Twenty-eight years ago, a group of student leaders at Texas A&M University felt the need for a conference that would bring student leaders together to share information and experiences concerning their respective schools. As a result, in 1981, Texas A&M hosted the first annual Conference on Student Government Associations (COSGA).
Each year since its inception, the conference has grown in both size and scope. COSGA is now the largest student run conference of its kind. Last year's conference welcomed over 400 delegates from institutions across the nation as well as one school from Qatar. The purpose of COSGA is to provide a conference which focuses on the needs of student leaders, more specifically, those of student government. To fulfill this purpose, COSGA uses a variety of tools: expert speakers, workshops, and roundtable discussions of groups.
COSGA provides a forum for discussion and growth on all issues pertaining to Student Government. COSGA is the premier conference for Student Governments in the nation, we provide a level of student involvement and professionalism that can not be found anywhere else.
